Everyone needs a welcome home

There’s a growing need to find willing and caring home providers for adults with developmental disabilities. As a participating home provider, you’ll receive ongoing financial and professional support when you provide an opportunity for an indivdual to live in a caring environment.

About

Community Living Thunder Bay’s purpose is to help integrate individuals with intellectual disabilities to live independently within the community. The Supportive Living Service is a unique living arrangement where home providers provide a valuable service by sharing their time, skills, and home with an adult who has an intellectual disability. Currently there is a need for 20 to 25 more homes to help house and support these individuals.

Get Involved

The Supportive Living Program is in need of more home providers. As a home provider you are never alone. Community Living Thunder Bay’s Supportive Living Service Staff will be with you every step of the way and will provide:

  • monetary compensation on a per diem basis
  • supportive living training
  • ongoing support from Community Living Thunder Bay’s professional staff

By becoming a home provider you will enjoy a rewarding and fulfilling experience where you will provide someone with the opportunity to excel and live a normal life.

This individual is supported with daily living skills and often can be included in family activities, while support workers provide assistance with recreational activities, medical appointments, and planning meetings to ensure that the individual is comfortable and adequately supported in the home.
