provide services for individuals with a developmental disability and their families. Community
Living Thunder Bay invites applications from individuals who are interested in the position of
Temporary Full-Time Summer Student – Job Coach.

Qualifications

Full-time College or University student currently enrolled and returning to school, as well is
enrolled in Recreation Therapy, Social Service Work, Developmental Service Work, or any other
related field. A driver’s license and access to a vehicle is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

The summer Job Coach position provides support and guidance to students with developmental
disabilities as they gain experience in the workplace. You will be supporting multiple students at
multiple locations. Not only is this a great opportunity to help others achieve their goals, this
position will also provide you with experience in a variety of work environments.
As a Job Coach you will help supported students to recognize their strengths, and encourage
them to continue further development. You will provide guidance and support throughout the
summer, and help them with fine-tuning work habits and skills. You will be responsible for
devising, planning, and implementing a training and best practices package. With the support of
the Supported Employment Team, you will create a package consisting of expectations of the
employer and employee, employee training, and an extensive evaluation summary which will be
completed by both the employer and employee. You will be responsible to keep track, oversee,
and keep documentation of the students. It is imperative as a Job Coach to ensure that all Health
and Safety requirements are met.
The ideal candidate must demonstrate outstanding communication, organizational, time
management, and interpersonal skills.
